David Roth MORE PEARLS
For “more pearls” DAVID ROTH took up a suggestion from Stockfisch boss Günter Pauler to record a personal selection of songs by other composers for Stockfisch. Songs that are particularly close to him and have led and accompanied him on his own singer / songwriter path:
“… songs and writers that drew me near and made their marks in my psyche. Though it’s been years since I’ve played some, like cherished old friends they’ve been exhilarating to revisit, relearn, rediscover, and gain new insight from. ”
The result is a collection with well-known and less well-known “evergreens” of Anglo-American songwriting: Here are the titles with their composers that David Roth has chosen for the compilation with “his oldies”: 1 song For You Far Away (James Taylor) 1985 • 2 Don Quixote (Gordon Lightfoot) 1971 • 3 American Tune (Paul Simon) 1972 • 4 I Will (John Lennon / Paul McCartney) 1968 • 5 Blowin ‘In The Wind (Bob Dylan) 1962 • 6 Song For Adam (Jackson Browne ) 1971 • 7 Would You Like To Learn To Dance? (Steve Goodman) 1971 • 8 Last Thing On My Mind (Tom Paxton) 1964 • 9 The Dutchman (Michael Smith) 1971 • 10 The Great Mandala -The Wheel Of Life (Peter Yarrow, A.Grossman, Mary Travers) 1967 • 11 Streets Of London (Ralph McTell) 1970 • 12 When I´m Gone (Phil Ochs) 1966 • 13 You´ve Got A Friend (Carole King) 1971 • 14 Where Have All The Flowers Gone?
